Mesa Distance Learning’s
K-6 Online Program provides self-paced, engaging learning through interactive,
project-based activities that promote exploration, problem solving,
reflection, and real-world connections. Students being schooled at
home anywhere in Arizona may register free of charge. K-6 Online is
a member of the Mesa Public Schools. Homeschoolers are also welcome
to be involved with the Eagleridge Enrichment Program, a part-time
on-campus program for kindergarten through ninth grade students.
The third grade
online program offers a reading and language arts curriculum, a math
curriculum, and both a science, and a social studies curriculum. Average
students will spend two hours daily completing reading and language
arts activities, one hour daily completing math activities, and one-half
hour apiece on the science and social studies curricula. 50-70% of
the activities will be online, and in addition, they will spend time
working on other activities that include, workbooks, paper and pencil
tasks, manipulatives and other activities, as recommended by the pacing
schedule directions or the online teacher.
