Microsoft Vista Users - Setting up Internet Explorer

Extra security features on Vista computers require that users set the MDLP website as a trusted site. This will ensure that Internet Explorer is not running in what is called Protected Mode. Before resetting the Protected Mode, turn off all pop up blockers. Follow the instructions below:

1) Double-click on 'Protected Mode:' on the bottom bar of the Internet Explorer browser to open the Security tab.

2) Click on 'Trusted Sites.'



3) Uncheck 'Enable Protected Mode.'


4) Click on the Sites button.

5) Uncheck the 'Require server verification' box.


6) In the white space under 'Add this website to the zone:'type *.mdlp.org as shown to the right.

If an address is already displayed, delete it and type *.mdlp.org as shown.

(Note: Hold down shift then press 8 to type an asterisk *. Don't forget the period between the
asterisk and mdlp.org.)


7) Click on the 'Add' button.

8) Add *.adobe.com in the same way.


9) Click on the 'Add' button

uncheck Require Server Verification; Type *.mdlp.org; Click on the Add button

10) Check that the websites you typed have been added and spelled correctly as shown.


11) Close the Trusted Sites tab.

The Security tab will still be open. Click ok on the Security tab then quit (or "x out of") Internet Explorer.

12) After quitting Internet Explorer, open it again and go to www.mdlp.org/go to run the diagnostic page. Allow 'active x' if prompted. You should see 'Checking Settings...' then the diagnostic page with all green checks.

If you see the diagnostic page, the plug-ins are loaded. Go to the main website and log in to the Student page. You should see the timesheet calendar. If not, call or e-mail tech support.
